RoundUp TailsUp Ranch Sales Policy

We’re so glad you’re considering a goat from RoundUp TailsUp Ranch! Our goal is to raise healthy, productive, and well-structured Nigerian Dwarfs that succeed in both the milk pail and the show ring. Because we take pride in our animals, we do have a few policies in place to help things go smoothly for both you and us.

Choosing a Dairy Goat

Our animals are part of performance herds that participate in milk testing, Linear Appraisal, and shows. This allows us to track production and structure, while also proving the quality of our herd.If you own one of our goats—or a descendant—we’d love to hear how they’re doing! Updates from new homes are always welcome.

When you reach out, let us know what you’re hoping for, and we’ll do our best to match you with the right animal. Adult animals are occasionally available; their prices are generally higher since they are often proven in the show ring, in milk, or through appraisal.

All kids will be disbudded before leaving the farm. We do not make exceptions to this policy.

Reserving a Kid

Performance homes are always given first priority. To reserve a kid, a deposit of half down is required, with the remaining balance due within two weeks of notification of birth.

If the kid you reserved is not available or does not meet our standards of quality, your deposit can be transferred to another kid or to a future kidding, whichever you prefer. If a doe fails to produce or passes away, reservations may be transferred to another doe’s kids or applied as farm credit toward a future animal.

Please note: our kidding schedule is subject to change until each doe is confirmed pregnant.

Deposits and Payment

All deposits are non-refundable. If a sale is canceled, payments already made will not be returned. Prices may adjust over time as animals age, show, or complete appraisals, but we make every effort to finalize prices before breeding so there are no last-minute surprises.

Deposits guarantee that a kid will be held for you until pickup (between 3–6 weeks of age). If an animal is not picked up within two weeks of being ready to leave—unless other arrangements are made—we may place the animal back up for sale or charge a boarding fee of $30/week.

Payment methods we accept include:

  • Zelle

  • Venmo, or CashApp (buyer covers any transaction fees unless sent as a “Friends and Family” payment via PayPal)

  • Checks (must clear before pickup)

  • Money orders (made out to Allison Baumgartner)

  • Cash (counted and confirmed at pickup)

  • PayPal — our least favorite (buyer covers any transaction fees unless sent as a “Friends and Family” payment via PayPal)

Please be sure to include your name and what the payment is for when sending funds electronically.

Transportation

We encourage buyers to pick up their kids here at the farm so you can meet related animals, but all visits must be by appointment only for safety and biosecurity reasons. If pickup isn’t possible, delivery may be arranged to shows and events we attend, and shipping can also be arranged at the buyer’s expense.

Shipping costs, veterinary exams, blood tests, certificates, and crates are the buyer’s responsibility. Registration papers or applications for ADGA members will be provided, and most transfers are done online with the buyer covering fees. Please have your ADGA number ready for transfers.

Bucks and Breeding Policy

We are selective with buck kids and do not keep or sell every buck born. Only those from proven lines and does with strong production are offered as breeding bucks. Before a buck kid from a first freshener is sold as a breeding buck, his dam must be evaluated in milk for at least 3–6 weeks.

We reserve the right to retain up to 30 straws of semen from any buck we sell, at the buyer’s cost of collection.

Health & Guarantees

All kids will be disbudded, bottle-trained if applicable, and healthy at the time of pickup. We do not sell sick animals. Once animals leave our property, their care and success are the responsibility of the buyer.

If a genetic abnormality such as sterility or extra teats is diagnosed with veterinary proof, we will offer a replacement kid from the same year or the following year’s kidding. Replacements must either be returned to us with clean testing or sold without papers. No cash refunds are offered.

We also reserve the first right of refusal on any animals sold by us—if you later decide to sell your goat, please contact us first.

Thank you for considering RoundUp TailsUp Ranch! We deeply value the families and farms who give our goats wonderful homes. Please feel free to reach out with any questions—we’re always happy to help.

We look forward to hearing from you!
